The “agents against agency” DVD features emergent and improvised musical forms in dialog with the natural world.

Features “Parabolic Fountain Music”, a collaboration with composer Ted Coffey.
In the Spring of 2010, with the help of composers Matthew Burtner and Yuri Spitsyn, Ted installed “Parabolic Fountain Music” in a stream just outside of Charlottesville, VA, recording both video and sound.

About WATCH/PLAY:
Surveillance cameras observe and record all kinds of everyday actions, but their primary purpose is to record (and/or discourage) crimes. What would happen if we used these cameras to examine other aspects of our culture, and opened their feeds up to the public-at-large?

Carnival Shoot in Valparaiso, IN

After months of planning and preparation, production began on the Carnival (Midway) Project. The first shoot took place July 27-29, 2009 at the Porter County Fair in Valparaiso, IN. I shot footage of people riding the Feuerball (Fireball) and the Starship Area 51 (also known as the Gravitron). Here are some behind-the-scenes shots of the Fair and stills from the Feuerball.

Michael Remembered…

I’ve got really complicated feelings about Michael Jackson. Last year, I spent a full day in front of his wax figure at Madame Tussaud’s in New York which resulted in Metamorphoses (Michael). Watching people act out their fantasies and fears with him was a cathartic experience for me. Although I like showing him with Britney, George W, Biggie and Oprah, I just finished a 3-up version that compresses many of the interactions into a 3 1/2 minute chunk, which I hope is a fitting tribute.
