Performance and Single-channel video
Collaboration with Ted Coffey

One Note Solo incorporates imagery derived from the vibrant cities surrounding Tokyo and abandoned communities that built up in anticipation of the 1998 Nagano Olympics. Moving between the new and the newly discarded, this project considers the physical and emotional loss that one experiences with our rapidly urbanizing societies. It is performed live using custom software that allows specific control of the video’s playback and connection with the musician’s choices.

In these performances I use custom software to control the video’s playback, which allows me to listen and respond to the choices being made by the musicians.
